Service work in runs

Service work is a system where steps of a run can be executed by an engineer. This is useful for standard processing or operations which are performed by engineers show are trained on a specific equipment.

Service work can only be requested if the previous steps are finished so the samples are ready for the service work. A second requirement is that all the steps requested for service work are sequential.

Service work can be requested by checking the steps which should receive service work and then clicking on the "Request service work" button in the steps page. This will open a form where the run owner can select the service work to be performed and give extra information.

Actions needed to set service work. First select the steps which should receive service work (1) and then click Set

When the service work is requested the steps will be marked as "Service work requested" and the run owner will be able to give a title to the service work and to give some extra instructions (see below)

If the service work is created it will be added to the queue of existing service work. This queue can be found via Run > Service Work

Service work queue

The service can be executed by clicking the title of the service work. This will open a form where the engineer can check the details of the requested service work and via the buttons "Finish" or "Unfinish" the progress of the service work can be updated. The run owner will be updated on the progress of the service work via email.

It is also possible to add comments via the comment box at the bottom of the service work page. These comments will be sent to the run owner as well
