Create a run
Choose the creation path that matches the work: a blank research run, a production run, a released template, another run, or selected parent parts/substrates in the start wizard.
Create a blank run
Open Runs → New research run or New production run.
Enter the name, optional sample location, and motivation. A research run can also record a conclusion while it is edited.
Select the organisation group, team, and project. These choices control access, available source material, approval, and numbering.
Enter the number of experimental parts or products.
Save. If the project requires substrates, SoloDB sends you to the substrate overview or mapping page.
Add steps manually or copy them from a process, recipe, template, or run. Add requirements and measurements where acceptance data must be recorded.
Check required material and steps, then select Start. If approval is required, the run enters Waiting for approval until an authorised user accepts it.
Create from a template or run
Use Create from template to start with a released standard procedure. Use Create from run to copy useful steps from existing work. Review copied recipe versions, parameters, private flags, source material, and part mappings before starting; the new run has its own lifecycle and results.
