Create a child run
A child run records downstream work on material produced by one or more earlier runs.
Start the run-creation wizard and search for parent runs.
Select the parent parts and the amount taken from each. Where permitted, select additional substrates.
Continue to the research-run form. SoloDB pre-fills the parent run's name, motivation, group, team, and project; edit them if the new context differs.
Choose whether selected parent parts should create one combined run or individual runs when that option is offered.
Save and review the experimental-split mapping. Each child part should map to the intended parent material.
Add or copy steps and start the run normally.
The parent/child relationship and material mapping remain visible from both runs. Do not use a simple related-run link when material lineage is required.
