SoloDB Documentation Version 1.0 Help

Create a child run

A child run records downstream work on material produced by one or more earlier runs.

  1. Start the run-creation wizard and search for parent runs.

  2. Select the parent parts and the amount taken from each. Where permitted, select additional substrates.

  3. Continue to the research-run form. SoloDB pre-fills the parent run's name, motivation, group, team, and project; edit them if the new context differs.

  4. Choose whether selected parent parts should create one combined run or individual runs when that option is offered.

  5. Save and review the experimental-split mapping. Each child part should map to the intended parent material.

  6. Add or copy steps and start the run normally.

The parent/child relationship and material mapping remain visible from both runs. Do not use a simple related-run link when material lineage is required.
