Chemicals
SoloDB provides a comprehensive chemical management system designed to track, organize, and ensure safety compliance for all chemicals in your laboratory environment. This module helps you maintain detailed records of chemicals, their containers, safety information, and usage roles.
Chemical Organization
Chemicals in SoloDB are organized in a hierarchical structure:
Chemical Groups (Main Chemicals): Chemicals are categorized into groups that share similar properties or purposes. Each group has a name, code, and a flag indicating whether Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are required.
Chemicals: Individual chemical substances with properties such as:
Name, CAS number, and chemical formula
Physical state (solid, liquid, gas, or other)
Classification as standard or non-standard product
Safety information (icons, statements)
CMRH (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, Reprotoxic, Hormone Disruptive) classifications
Description and additional properties
Chemical Containers: Physical instances of chemicals stored in specific locations, with properties including:
Container type
Location and sub-location
Expiration, opening, and arrival dates
Amount and concentration
Owner and associated users
Method of use and purpose
Order information (supplier, order number)
Chemical groups
Chemical groups (Main Chemicals) allow you to organize related chemicals together. Each group has a unique name and code, and you can specify whether chemicals in this group require Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Chemical import
SoloDB supports importing chemical data from external sources, allowing you to efficiently add multiple chemicals and containers to the system at once.
Container types
Container types define the different kinds of containers used to store chemicals. Each container type can have specific properties and may be associated with a label template for printing.
Chemical roles
Chemical roles define the relationships between users and chemicals, specifying what responsibilities or permissions users have regarding specific chemicals. Roles can be active or inactive and may be part of an approval workflow.
Safety icons
Safety icons provide visual indicators of chemical hazards, helping users quickly identify potential dangers associated with specific chemicals.
Barcode Scanning
The barcode scanning feature allows users to efficiently manage chemical containers using barcodes. This feature streamlines the process of tracking, registering, and managing chemicals in your laboratory environment.
Labels
SoloDB supports generating and printing labels for chemical containers, ensuring proper identification and safety information is visible on all containers. The label system allows you to create custom label templates, print labels individually or in batches, and integrate with external labeling systems.
