Classification

In SoloDB each equipment can have one or more types, where each type is grouped via category. This allows a high-level classification based on categories and a more detailed classification based on types.

Equipment categories can be managed via Admin > Equipment > Categories. Equipment types can be managed via Admin > Equipment > Types. Equipment categories and types can thus only be managed by SoloDB Admins.

To set the correct types per equipment, go to the "types" part of the Edit equipment form (see below). Note that only types can be selected, as each type is part of a category the category is automatically selected.

Mass update of types

When much equipment have to be updated in a lab or zone it is also possible to do a mass update of the types. This can be done per room ro zone. To open the mass update form, go to the desired room or zone and press "Mass update equipment" in the equipment tab.

This opens a page where all equipment is shown and where the required types can be selected. The types are grouped per category

Select the correct types per equipment and press save, the system will return to the same page but will show a green message that the new category types ave been saved successfully, this allows intermediate saves.
