Equipment type administration

Open Admin → Equipment → Categories to create a broad category, then Types to create its more specific values. Each type has a unique name, belongs to one category, and selects the equipment properties supplied by that type.

An equipment item can have several types. Avoid overlapping types that mean the same thing: they fragment filters and make property inheritance unpredictable. Before removing a property from a type, check existing equipment values and exports. Use mass update from the equipment list to apply a new classification consistently.

Module types are different: they classify functional modules inside a tool and are managed under Module types.
